Practical Measures in Our Daily Operations

At Hotel Skjern, we continuously work to reduce our consumption of energy, water and other resources. We focus on practical measures that can be incorporated naturally into our daily hotel operations without compromising our guests' comfort.

Energy

All lighting at Hotel Skjern uses LED technology.

When replacing or purchasing technical equipment, we consider energy consumption and choose energy-efficient solutions where appropriate.

We regularly monitor the hotel's consumption of electricity, water and heating to identify changes and opportunities to reduce resource use.

Water

All taps and showers at the hotel are fitted with water-saving devices.

Water flow rates are monitored to help reduce consumption while maintaining a comfortable experience for our guests.

The hotel's urinals are waterless and operate without running water.

Waste and Recycling

We separate waste generated by hotel operations into different categories to ensure appropriate handling.

Our guests also have the opportunity to separate their waste, and we provide information about where different types of waste can be disposed of.

Hazardous waste is stored separately and handled through approved waste management schemes.

Cleaning

For daily cleaning, we use products from the Nordic Swan Ecolabel-certified Total Prof cleaning range.

We also focus on correct dosing of cleaning products to avoid unnecessary consumption.

Purchasing

When purchasing products, we consider factors such as durability, energy consumption, packaging and opportunities for reuse and recycling.

Where practical and economically feasible, we prioritise local suppliers and products that require shorter transport distances.

Food and Beverages

We work to reduce food waste through careful purchasing and planning of our daily food preparation.

Tap water is readily available to our guests, and we use local products and suppliers where appropriate for our selection and operations.

Previous Green Key Certification

Hotel Skjern was Green Key certified until 31 March 2026.

We subsequently decided not to renew the certification. Several of the procedures and practical environmental measures introduced as part of our Green Key work remain part of the hotel's daily operations.

Hotel Skjern is not currently Green Key certified.

Ongoing Monitoring and Improvement

Our environmental work is an integral part of daily operations at Hotel Skjern. We regularly review our resource consumption and working procedures, and assess opportunities to make changes or invest in solutions that can help reduce our use of resources.
